History in the Making as the first Engadin Swimrun Concludes
In the stunning Engadin valley in the Swiss Alps, one hundred teams of two took on the first spectacular edition of Engadin Swimrun. A massive challenge with a mix of trail running and swimming for a total of 52 kilometres in mountain terrain. The strong athletes negotiated many hours of racing at altitude, 1 500 metres of vertical climb, cold water, and demanding mountain trails in the beautiful alpine landscape. Swede Björn Englund and Canadian Paul Krochak, Team Head Swimming, took a well-deserved win, handling the tough race course with perfect tactics and staying strong all the way. They crossed the finish line at Silvaplana with the imposing time of 06:28:10, beating the second placed team, Mike Thoren and Jesper Svensson, with over half an hour! Multisport champion Carolin Holmqvist of Sweden took an impressive third place overall with her partner Lelle Moberg.

Engadin Swimrun for the Toughest – A new, spectacular and challenging swimrun race in the Engadin Valley, Switzerland, July 12, 2014
Swimrun is exploding in Scandinavia and rapidly gaining ground internationally. Engadin Swimrun is the first swimrun race outside of Scandinavia, taking place in the beautiful Engadin valley in the heart of the Swiss Alps, on July 12. The race will see an impressive line up of athletes from 16 nationalities, including the strongest in the sport as well as newcomers testing their limits in the young sport of “swimrun”. In this new type of race teams of two alternate between trail running and open water swimming on a marked nature course. You run in your wetsuit and swim in your shoes.

ÖTILLÖ on Export – A new, spectacular and tough swimrun race to be launched in the Engadin Valley, Switzerland
On July 12th 2014, the first Swimrun race outside of Sweden will take place in the Swiss Alps; the Engadin Swimrun. The spectacular scene for the race is the Engadin Valley in Switzerland, known by many because of the famous Alpine village St. Moritz. The organisation behind the internationally acclaimed ÖTILLÖ is now, after eight years of swimrun racing in the Swedish archipelago, starting to take the concept to other places in the world.
